I'm a software engineer, website designer, systems architect, technical support person and sysadmin - mixing up those roles as and when my current employer needs or friends buy me enough cake. I usually exist somewhere in Bristol, UK. You can find out about the charity I work for and some of the other projects I've worked on recently in the Projects section of the site.
This site exists to give me somewhere to scribble thoughts that I think might be useful for other people to read (and jog my memory in years to come). Much of it may be of a technical nature but the content categorisation tags should make it easy to find the type of topic you're interested in.

I thought it was about time that I replaced my personal website from last century so I've played around with some interesting new software and techniques and come up with something a bit more suited to this millennium.

This website is made with a large amount of Joomla 1.5, a salad of third party Joomla extensions and a lot of secret herbs and spices (custom PHP templates, CSS, etc.). You'll have to read on to find out what temperature I had to pre-heat the oven to.
